February meeting

The February meeting of the London Libraries Learning Research Reading Group will be held on the 11th February at 6pm. We’re meeting in the Old Building, Fourth floor Cafe Bar. There are details about the location here

With LSE’s NetworkEd seminar on the 6th Feb, Jane has suggested discussing infolit strategies and Digidol Project. There is also the following paper Truth Be Told: How College Students Evaluate and Use Information in the Digital Age. Next meeting of London Libraries Learning Reasearch Reading Group

December passed in a blur, but I’m hoping this is a good time to suggest having another meeting of the reading group. Below are suggestions for a topic and dates of the next meeting.

There seems to be a lot of discussion currently taking place about Information Literacy and Digital Literacy. Jane has suggested discussing infolit strategies and Digidol Project, which links into LSE’s NetworkEd seminar on the 6th Feb

I wondered if the following paper may be interesting to read as well?

Welcome to the London Libraries Learning Reasearch Reading Group

Hello all and welcome to an informal and impromtu reading group for London librarians interested in research, learning and information literacy. The idea came from Jane Secker and we had our first meeting on Thursday 8th November at 6pm and held at LSE.

The blog has been set up as a place to keep all the information about where we meet and what we will be reading or discussing at the meetings.

The meetings are an opportunity to talk about a paper we’ve been reading, but also discuss issues relating to research we might be doing or wanting to do. We could also share drafts of papers people might be writing to get peer support and feedback.

We’re hoping to hold our next meeting during the week beginning the 3rd December, more news on that to follow.
